The holy Imrei Emes was once sitting by a אסיפה and the negativity and criticism were going high… He suddenly turns to the oilem and says: Why in the world does Yisro’s added Parsha start from the words וְאַתָּה תֶחֱזֶה – “But you must seek out…” and not from the beginning of it all when he told Moshe לֹא טוֹב הַדָּבָר אֲשֶׁר אַתָּה עֹשֶׂה – “What you are doing is not good”?
The answer is: Saying לֹא טוֹב הַדָּבָר – “What you are doing is not good” – it may be important – but it’s not going to get you an added Parsha in the Torah. It’s when you come and say וְאַתָּה תֶחֱזֶה – ‘I have a solution. I’m bringing something new to the table…’ 🔥
