The Dubner Maggid tells a tale of how a man was walking down a path, and suddenly he realized that he’s lost his gold coin. So he retraces his steps the entire way of where he walked that entire day, but he doesn’t find his gold coin, instead, somewhere along the way he finds two.
Now, the wise man connects the dots, and says “thank you Hashem that I lost my coin, if not for that I wouldn’t have found two.” The foolish man though, says “If I wouldn’t have lost that coin, I would have had three.” So who’s right?
Hashem says: רְאֵה – I want you to see, אָנֹכִי נֹתֵן לִפְנֵיכֶם–הַיּוֹם – that I placed before you – בְּרָכָ֖ה וּקְלָלָֽה. But in whose hands is it to decide what is going to be? In your eyes. In the eyes of the beholder.
Choose wisely, choose to turn your life into a life of blessings… Today.
