If there was a ‘no parking’ sign on the side of a mail box – okay. But when the guy comes out and he says “Moishy, if you don’t move your car right now, I’m gonna bust your tires” then suddenly it’s talking to you.
The holy Ar”i Hakadosh would learn the Sefer Devarim and he said “This is the ultimate Musser Sefer”. But why? There are so many other Musser Sefarim?
The secret is: All the Nevi’im would say כה אמר ה’, it was general – ‘no parking’. But when Moshe Rabbeinu spoke Sefer Devarim it was זה הדבר, and he spoke to me and you.
And it’s possible to vividly imagine how Moshe Rabbeinu is speaking to us through the words of Devarim, in our life… Today.
