So why do we correct people? הוכח תוכיח את עמיתך ולא תשא עליו חטא. Says the holy S’fas Emes: The ‘תוכיח’ is the fixer, ‘הוכח תוכיח’ means fix the fixer.
If you want to correct somebody, remember, the way to do it is that you find whatever you’re seeing wrong within yourself, and then you fix yourself. And then the person who’s not doing something right, realizes that “Wow, I can fix myself too”.
And then you go together with him to a new place of being… Today.
