Around this time, the holy Satmar Rebbe would always say over this story from his grandfather the Yeitov Lev:
There once was a king that nobody was able to get to him, but once a year when he would leave, people would throw petitions (kvitlech) into his carriage and they would ask for things.
And there was one guy that every single year he threw in his kvitel, but his request never got answered. So he started wondering “why?” until he figured out that it never gets to the king; there are people that don’t like him, and they make sure that the request never reaches the kings hands. And he realized that there’s only one solution “I’m going to have to take it from hand to hand and make sure that the king gets it himself.”
And that’s what the holy days are all about. It’s that one time that you have that chance; and it’s from me to you Hashem. And even though you know that you have deficiencies and you have blockages, and you have gatekeepers who aren’t allowing you to connect; now is the time when the gatekeepers fall away and it’s just me and you Hashem… today.
